Rather, it serves smaller cities such as Roanoke, Staunton, Harrisonburg, and Winchester, Virginia; Hagerstown, Maryland; Harrisburg and Scranton, Pennsylvania; and Binghamton and Syracuse, New York.
Interstate 64: I-64 connects the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area to the Hampton Roads, Virginia, metropolitan area. Along its path, Interstate 64 connects to East St. Louis, Illinois; Evansville, Indiana; Louisville, Kentucky; Charleston, West Virginia; and Richmond, Virginia. Interstate 64 forms half of the Tidewater area's "belt system" in the Norfolk-Hampton Roads area.
Interstate 77: I-77 connects the eastern Great Lakes region with Appalachia and the Southeast. It serves the cities of Columbia, Charlotte, Charleston, Akron, and Cleveland.
Interstate 79: I-79 runs from north to south linking Erie Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh, Morgantown, and Charleston along the U.S. 19 corridor.
