3300 Block of Point Lookout Road, Augusta County Accident
The Virginia State Police is reporting a fatal collision in 3300 block of Point Lookout Road, near Route 340, in Augusta County. On Wednesday, July 7th, a Ford Escape traveling north on Point Lookout Road crossed the center line and struck the rear of a Dodge Durango. The Escape then collided head-on with a Ford F-450 pickup.
The impact with the Ford truck sent the truck into the yard of a residence, striking and killing a resident who was in the yard of the home. The Ford Escape caught on fire after the impact. An infant was pulled from the rear of the Ford Escape and transported to UVA Medical Center. The driver of the Ford Escape also sustained fatal injuries.
